The Parol is a traditional Christmas star lantern from the Philippines. Its most basic form is a five pointed star made of bamboo sticks and Japanese paper.  The modern parol now graces a lot of Filipino homes in the Philippines and abroad in elegant capiz shell designs. Each Gift Ko capiz parol is handcrafted by artisans in Pampanga with skills passed on through generations. Each piece is unique and occasional scuffs and scratches on the hand-pounded capiz shell surface is normal. There may be also dents on the brass siding from hand-forming the lantern frame. All these imperfections lend to the character of each piece and do not detract from the beauty of the light display when the parol is lit.

For indoor and covered outdoor use only. Because of the fragile nature of capiz shells, DO NOT USE OR DISPLAY YOUR CAPIZ PAROL IN EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS. We suggest displaying your parol hanging indoors in front of a window to protect it from the elements. SInce 2019, all Gift Ko capiz parols use UL listed and ICC LED components for safety, durability and hours of energy efficient enjoyment for the holiday season. Each C7 one-watt bulb has 50,000 life hours. A polarized plug with a switch is included for safety. Make sure the switch is in the OFF position before plugging your parol into the outlet.
