Kansas State’s official color is royal purple, but Wildcat fans have a special affinity to the color lavender. K-State men’s basketball wore unique uniforms for away games in the ‘70s – dark purple shorts with lavender jerseys. While this allegedly drew some jeers from opponents at the time, the team historically performs very well when donning the lighter purple.
